ENA mapped an empathy gap between real geriatric caregiving and training narratives

Interviews with ten nursing assistants showed different relational patterns in accounts of real caregiving and prior training. ENA linked empathy strongly with communication in real-life narratives, while training narratives emphasized communication with critical thinking and gave empathy a weaker role.
